Hey! I'm Bri, and I appreciate your interest in getting to know me as a coach.

Personally, I love to train in the mountains and get above treeline as often as possible. My training is diverse in that in addition to trail & mountain ultra-running, I’m currently dabbling in triathlon and gravel riding. I love racing and the community that races provide, but I also love self supported objectives; whether that’s going for an FKT, working on completing a list of peaks or just creating a big route that looks fun.

Below you’ll find some bullets on my athletic, educational and professional backgrounds, in addition to where I derive my training philosophy and coaching values.

Staying up to date ~ always.

Beyond any of the experiences listed below, I consider myself a forever student of the sport. I firmly believe that to be an effective coach, one must constantly learn, grow, and maintain a sense of curiosity. This is particularly true in the realm of trail and mountain ultra running, as it is a relatively new sport where we are continuously discovering and refining training principles tailored to the demands of longer distances.

Coaching Philosophy.

I am an UESCA certified Ultrarunning Coach. That specific certification was developed by Jason Koop, therefore his coaching practices & scientifically backed training theories heavily influence my approach to coaching. I use a block periodization format for all of my athletes. How those blocks look in terms of duration, placement and volume are athlete dependent.

Female Specific.

While I work with and support all athletes, I am currently dedicating time into gaining further knowledge about training principles specific to female athletes & am open to implementing these ideas/concepts when applicable. This includes understanding best practices that account for the hormonal cycle of females in their reproductive years, as well as the optimal training approaches for women in perimenopause and postmenopause.

Who I coach.

I coach all athlete abilities. From people who want to try out their first trail or ultra trail race, to the seasoned trail runner looking to take their training to the next level of performance. Even though I am putting more of an emphasis on coaching trail and mountain ultra athletes, I do also coach athletes who like to transition to more road running &/or racing in the winter months; either to improve their speed or to be a more well rounded runner. This also includes athletes who like to diversify their year with multiple sports and cross train weekly, in addition to their running. Think skiing in winter or cycling in spring and summer.

Endurance Nutrition.

Regarding nutrition in trail and mountain running, I firmly believe that athletes should always consume enough food to support their training load. I take pleasure in assisting athletes in fine-tuning their fueling and hydration strategies, ensuring that these factors never become limiting factors in their performance.
